Beberapa orang setuju jika siswa membawa hp ke sekolah karena dengan membawa hp kesekolah, komunikasi antara siswa dengan orang tua atau keluarga mereka dapat dilakukan dengan mudah. Misalnya jika terjadi masalah pada siswa di sekolah mereka dapat member tahu orang tua mereka apa yang terjadi pada mereka. Sebaliknya jika sesuatu yang buruk terjadi pada orangtua siswa mereka dengan segera dapat memberi tahu anak mereka disekolah dengan hp.
Pada zaman canggih ini sumber pengetahuan siswa tidak hanya berasal dari buku, namun dari internet juga. Hp yang memiliki fitur lengkap sering disalahgunakan untuk sesuatu yang tidak penting oleh siswa. Misalnya untuk mengakses video porno. Penggunaan Bluetooth juga semakin memburuk. Dengan adanya Bluetooth siswa dapat mengirim gambar dan video porno dengan sangat mudahnya.
Hp juga bisa merubah sikap seseorang. Misalnya jika ada siswa membawa hp yang bagus dan mahal sementara ada siswa lain membawa hp yang kurang bagus, ia akan merasa iri. Lalu ia akan melakukan segala cara agar bisa memiliki hp yang sama walaupun dengan cara yang tidak baik seperti mencuri.
Jadi, seharusnya hp boleh dibawa kesekolah namun digunakan seperlunya. Tidak digunakan untuk sesuatu yang tidak berhubungan dengan pendidikan. Bila perlu siswa harus membawa hp yang tidak memiliki fasilitas kamera.
